dave_boo Posted March 22, 2008 Share Posted March 22, 2008 There's several options. One thing you can do is get a cheap mobile to connect to your laptop via USB cable. Other wise, you can use IRDA (same system used for remote controls...more or less ), or bluetooth if your phone and laptop both support them. The alternative is to get an Aircard or USB module. The Aircards simply accepts your simcard and plugs into the 1/4" x 3" (PCMCIA) slot on the side of your laptop. The USB module also accepts your simcard and obviously plugs into a USB port. I used to recommend going the Aircard route, but with the move to ExpressCard slots and away from PCMCIA slots, this is not a good recommendation anymore.
