Shipping A Motorcycle Isaan To Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am moving from Sisaket to Phuket and want to ship a motorcycle as well as a couple of boxes. Is there such a thing in Thailand as a company who does this. I have considered using the train and doing it myself but due to family reasons I need to get to Phuket urgently and have the motorbike follow on.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You can find signs around that say RotRapJang in Thai ... have someone call and get qoutes for you

I have paid 7k (each way) to send a FULL pickup load in and out of Phuket (to bkk) and expect it would be a bit more due to escalating gas prices

It's easy - ask a bargirl: most know how its done - there is a government run transport service that moves bikes from one end of the country to the other. Phuket to Chang Rai is something like Baht900. Runs between most big cities.

Takes about 5-6 days and you have to go to a central collection point to collect - they won't drop it off at your front door.

Take your motorbike to the Post Office. Remember to go in with an empty gas tank, as they'll drain it.

I bought one in Chiang Mai and sent it down to Phuket by post 4 months ago. They were even able to track it on it's way down. It got stuck in Chumpon a few days but total time still wasn't long.

As Misterme said, the Post Office is good. I think about 1200 baht. Also don't forget to take the bike's papers ( the green book ) :o

....while plotting my escape route from the missus some while back :o ...I was surprised to find out that you could take a motor bike on the train as well,...i don't know if this still applies but might be another option,....that was to bkk from issaan...

I'll ride it down to Phukett for you, for free, you pay for gas.

When I moved from Pattaya to Korat I put my AirBlade on a bus. Had to take the mirrors off to fit in the luggage compartment. Cost me 800 baht. When it got to Korat they called me and asked when it would be picked up. As I was driving up with my car later in the day I told them it would not be till late that night. They told me to pick it up at the police booth at the bus station. Good service, painless and cheap.

A bar owner in Bangna Rd sent a bike by post from Issan, cost just over 1000B. He was very happy because the saving over buying in Phuket was over 3000B.
