Called at the Chonburi Taxation office
I have dealt with the Jomtien revenue office for a few years already, to claim back withholding taxes and other things. My documents for claim back withholding taxes are filled in by the staff on the ground floor, and on other occasions I had to go to the legal department and the department that handles the returns, both are located on the 4th floor. I have always been served in English. Same for the tax revenue office in the Amphur Banglamung building, they speak English -

UK Immigration - Stranger Danger!
The governments own statisitcs in the UK show immigrants bring more in, than take out. Do you have issues with xenophobia? Because the monetry intellectual argument is a fallacy. And yaah Thailand really loves the cheap Brit tourists who flock here. The Brit who loves a british breakfast, goes searching the sun newspaper, sits in a bar on Soi Bukaho all day, and then pay for sex. Ooooooh love that sort of immigrant. -

Appeal Launched for British Teacher Gravely Injured in Thailand Crash
I know someone who was at the scene of the accident calling for an ambulance (assuming it's the same accident, but based on the date, location and story, I'm 99% sure). I was not there personally but this is what I was told: The accident involved 3 people and it was late at night: The Brit was not riding a motorbike, but he was a passenger on one which was being ridden by a local lady. The lady merged onto the oncoming traffic lane to ride the wrong way to avoid having to U-turn much further away (there is a raised lane divider on this part of the road, with a U-turn further up). However, there was a local man riding at a decent speed from the other direction, correctly in his lane, who hit the lady + Brit crossing the road. The Brit passenger and the Thai man got injured and the lady who caused the mess was mostly uninjured. Very nasty accident. If everything happened as described, can't really blame anyone except the lady taking the shortcut out of laziness, which ultimately caused life-changing injuries for the Brit and possibly for the Thai guy as well. The moral of the story: never ride as a passenger on a motorbike and let someone else be in control of your life. -

Cape Verde for Thai National
Bit of a shot in the dark here just to see if anyone has any first hand information as google is doing its usual of giving me conflicting info. Thinking of going to Cape Verde in a couple of months for a 2 week holiday with my Thai Wife who lives with me in the UK and in full time employment. From what i can see she can obtain a visa on arrival. I was just wondering if anyone else had travelled there with spouses, and if so was the immigration fairly straight forward? Thanks in advance.
