I got a double entry tourist visa in laos. After my 2X60 days I did a border run and got 30 days entry without visa. Can i still do 2 more 30 days and then back to Laos for a single/double entry proper tourist visa.

Someone told me they have changed again and you are not allowed back to thailand within 6 months under any circumstances (they wont give you a proper tourist visa)

Also is the double entry tourist visa for thailand still available in vientianne? Or where?

Vientiane is providing 2 entry tourist visas. If you receive a 60 day entry on tourist visa you can normally extend that stay for 30 days for 1,900 baht at Immigration.

There has not been any issue about obtaining more than one visa at most Consulates. You should not have a problem at Vientiane. The only general rule remains the 90 days in six months using visa exempt entry.

i'm having a problem myself, after my non-0 finished,i did 3 cambodia runs,1 60 day t v in laos,30 days extension at immigration, but as some cambodia runs were done a few days early,i am short 5 days,ie i have done onlly 175 days and not the 180 required.i went to immigration (pattaya) to check i could just pay the 5 days overstay on the next border run, i was told that i had to leave the kingdom by aircraft and pay the overstay at the airport, anyone else heard of this, has the 3 runs followed by t v's 3 times finished now.......???

It never worked. The rule is 90 days in a six month period (not 180 days). Overstay payment at a land crossing is subject to arrest en route so not a good idea. It could also result in other country not allowing entry and then you would be arrested as illegal entry upon return to Thailand and deported.

90 days of visa exempt entries in 6 months.

Just go back to Laos and get another Tourist Visa.

(That being said, go home and get a non-imm visa and get legal inside the INTENT of the law, since if you are living here you are not actually a tourist)

edit --- pardon Lop3 --- wasn't thinking and just typed from what was above

Once again - it is not 90 days in 180 days. It is 90 days of visa exempt entry in a six month period (which is not normally 180 days).

It is never possible to just get three visa exempt entries, followed by a tourist visa of 60 days and then extending it for 30 days and then back to the visa exempt entries, without spending around 5-6 days outside of Thailand.

If you use your 3 visa exempt entries back to back, you will not get 90 days. You will only get 87 days because each starting day of an entry is the ending day of the previous entry, so that day counts twice.

Then if you leave to get your visa and leave on one day and return on the next day, then the day you leave would be counted as the last day on your visa exempt entry, and then you come back the next day, and that is the first day of your visa, so those days would both count as being in Thailand. So if you then stay for 60+30 days in Thailand, that means that you would be in Thailand for 177 days. Six months would be around 182-183 days. So you are going to be short by 5-6 days before you could start to use the visa exempt entries again.
