My Friend Was Eliminated From Job..looking For Compensate

Featured Replies

Hello all,

my friend , who just got eliminated from her job after 5 months of servicing the office. Along with her, other 400 employees has been told to leave the job at the end of this month. Most of them are Thai only 5/6 are foreign citizen. She bears WP from there. She had contract of 3 months probabtion and she passed the it and became parmanent.

Now, since her elimination was part of companies cut cost program, she is assuming that she wouldn't get any compensate money. As far as i know, she should at least get 3 months of advance salary to balance her loss. I don't know it depends on the company policy or labor law in Thailand.

Can she fight for her compensate and seek support from the labor department in case she is not paid? or she just has to be happy with her current month salary?

waiting for your suggestion..

there was another thread on this....

should have the answers.

compensation by thai law depends on how long you worked at the company.

3 years service: 6 mos salary

between 1 and 3 years service: 3 mos salary

less than 1 year : 1 month

and there should be one month in lieu of notice if your friend was terminated on the spot.
