What about this post comes off as improbable? Certainly it is cliche, but so are most of the experiences expats and tourists create for themselves in thailand

the amount of venom and misery that oozes from many of the most "prolific" posters on this board is qiute disturbing, but their sage advice and careworn cynicism are perhaps the most effecive cautionary tale anyone could hope to read against the dangers of thailand.

so keep assuming that everyone else is being insincere, and take up the slack by abandoning the grain of salt yourselves.
