How Much Is My Computer Worth 2nd Hand ?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what I'd get if I went to offload my PC ?

2 1/2 years old

HP/Compaq Presario with 15" LCD.

P4 3ghz

Win XP Pro

80gig HD

Chuck in a HP 1610 scan/copy/print etc and a Canon photo printer.

Don't want to trade in, just get rid as I can't ship to Singapore if I go.

I'd say around the 10K mark if you were selling it privately

Hard to say, probably between 5K and 8k...

Personally, I've given up on selling second hand IT stuff, I just give it away to whoever I feel has any use for it...

It just makes me feel bad only being able to ask 15% of what I paid :o

You simply can't reference it against anything you buy today. Todays 1.5 Ghz core2duo is faster then a 2 year old 3 Ghz cpu, and a 15" LCD of that age probably can't display what most people are considering minimum usable resolution!

Unless you really need the cash, give it to some deserving person or organization, at least it'll make you feel good...

Just make sure you properly wipe your Hard disk!

I agree, I'm not going to bother selling mine, I'll just buy sufficient parts to upgrade your PC, eventually you'll have enough stuff left over to assemble a reasonable web browser / word processor for the family :o

Give it to a deserving charity and earn yourself some good karma, who wants to buy a second hand PC when a new basic model can be had for 10,000 baht with warrenty?

You could also replace the HD cheaply and take your old HD with you thereby keeping all your stuff so when you buy a new PC in Signapore you install your old HD as a slave.
