I'm looking for a good urologist that has experience with testicular cancer. I want to do a checkup with ultrasound. Has anyone recommendations?

Why not go to a cancer specialist who will then send you to his favourite/best urologist if need be?

Thanks guys, I went to Samitivej and it seems I have epididymitis (inflammation). I just have to take some pills and it should be good again in a few days.

Some bad news about this doctor in Samitivej (I can't recall his name now but will check on this next week).

He prescribed me a really heavy anti inflammantory drug that helps against rheuma

Indometacin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indometacin

- and that is usually not used for my problem (a German doctor I called confirmed that)

- the dosage should be slowly increased (thanks nobody told me that and its not written anywhere i had diarrhea and dizziness for two days)

- and can cause lethal side effects such as stroke or internal bleeding (especially if you overdose)

Of course this is not enough I also got antibiotics Ciprofloxacin

and while I was reading about contradictions I came across this:

The toxicity of drugs that are metabolised by the cytochrome P450 system is enhanced by concomitant use of some quinolones. They may also interact with the GABA A receptor and cause neurological symptoms; this is further augmented by certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are exactly what he prescribed me (Indometacin)

The urologist I spoke with from Germany was also surprised that I received indometacin as it is also a second choice drug today because of the severe side effects.

This really pisses me off. I had diarrhea and muscle aches since three days now but thought they were caused by the infection. I highly recommend to check what kind of drugs you get before taking them.

Holy Moly....

I advise you to PM Sheryl and ask her what kind of action you can/should take in order to file a complaint with this Urologist/Specialist (hmmmm..specialist) and the Hospital as well. You should take this very serious and don't let them go away with it !

This is a scandal and he brought your health in serious jeopardy.

You were quite enthusiastic in the beginning but no more..unfortunately.

Actually, indomethacin (available over the counter everywhere, brand names include ibuprofen), although also used for arthritis, is used for all manner of pain and inflammation. Thai doctors and hospitals tend to use it and similar drugs very, very widely (too widely), in part because of an excessive reluctance to use any type of potentially addictive pain killer. Where a doctor in the west would give tylenol with codeine or percocet, here they give an NSAID. they even do it post-operatively, which is an especially bad idea in the first few days due to increased risk of bleeding and bruising. This is such a widespread thing in thailand that the best one can do is be aware of it and be prepared to refuse presecriotons or (in hospital) doses if you are concerned about the sde effects or don't feel you need it.

I don't mean to suggest the drugs aren't useful, they are in many cases...just not to the extent they are relied upon in Thailand. Anyhow, point being that the doctor would have been giving it to you for relief of pain or inflammation, not for rheumatoid arthritis (altho the same drug is used for that condition as well).

Still doesn't excuse his giving it together witha quinolone and failing to warn you about side effects and contraindication, tho, so do post the doc's name when you have it.
