April 5, 200818 yr Something for the experts! I try to understand the tariifs regulations RESIDENTIAL SERVICE as published here: http://www.eppo.go.th/power/pw-Rate-MEA-Schedule.html#1 Maybe sb can help me: They have 1.1 Normal tariff with consumption not exceeding 150 kWh per month ... but give a rate for consumption over 400 kWh per month!! 1.2 Normal tariff with consumption exceeding 150 kWh per month ... not very different from 1.1 Where is the translation mistake? How many Amperes can be delivered by MEA or PEA for a RESIDENTIAL SERVICE? A friend of mie will get 100 Amp for his new villa n Phuket - a lot for me but not enough for him. Does anybody knows the procedere to get more power delivered or is this up to the local situation? THX for advices, Claude
April 5, 200818 yr There is no translation error Ther clue is in the notes:- If you install the small '5A' meter (5/15) then you get tariff 1.1 1. The customer who installed the Watt-hour meter of up to 5 amperes, 220 volts, 1 phase, 2 wires, will be classified under tariff No.1.1. Obviously, even with this baby supply you can consume over 150kWh per month, which is why the tariff goes to "Over 400kWh". If you install the bigger supply 15/45 or 30/100 you get tariff 1.2 2. The Customer who installed Watt-hour meter of up from 5 amperes, 220 volts, 1 phase, 2 wires, will be classified into the tariff No.1.2. IIRC the biggest single-phase meter available is 30/100 (max 100A) but its installation is dependent upon local conditions, if you need more power (IMHO a VERY big house) then you'll need 3-phase. April 20, 200818 yr Not such a big house, just lots of A/C running............. I live in a colder climate and tripped the company's 20A breaker several times this winter, turning on too many fires, or trying to use the microwave at the same time.
