hi wowpattaya, this forum is such a good thing for you, all this feedback direct from your customers will enable you to improve your service,

I personally think that one aspect of ordering from any company like yours that I "do not enjoy" is negotiating on the phone with a thai operator. so for me if you can improve the online ordering side of it so that i dont have to speak on the phone I will enjoy ordering much more and will order more frequent.

I will order online again today. hopefully I will get called back quicker and will not have to repeat it all.

Lets face it People who have a computer and internet at home in pattaya are more than smart enough to check the order through himself BEFORE they click the "Submit Order" button. Your web site is Very clear and easy to understand anyway. I hope that you can improve the online ordering soon.

Like others have said these take away services are O.K. in an emergency but far better value is a free delivery pizza from Pizza Hut.

I would agree...better to order directly from the restaurants. Many have their own delivery services. When I get the munchies or am too lazy to go out, Burger King and Au Bon Pain have delivery and the prices are menu prices (plus like B 30 for delivery). If you are a regular at a particular restaurant, some will let you call in an order and they will just send in on over via a staff member on their moto.

Hey JohnieBKK

If i want food delivered would not order direct from a restaurant, they are not focussed on delivery, they dont have a hot box on the bike so your food just gets transported in a carrier bag, and will not be hot when you get it, plus it may have been sitting around in the kitchen after it was cooked waiting for someone to go deliver it to you..

companies like door2door and waiters on wheels are ONLY focussed on delivering food so surely they will make a better job of it, their drivers are professional and know the steets well, the driver is waiting at the restautant while your food is cooked, as soon as its done he grabs it sticks it in his box and hes away. i dont mind paying for this service, i would rather pay and have it hot and quick than get a free delivery thats slow and luke warm at best. plus you get a massive choice or restaurants and types of food.

Has anybody used waiters on wheels yet? What was the service like? Are they as good as Door 2 Door? I was going to use them last night but stuck with D2D as I have used them many times before

* Door2door if you are listening, why don’t you copy waiters on wheels and do the online ordering service, It looks like wow already copied everything from you in the first place! get 1 back on them! they have even nicked some of your restaurants the cheeky blighters! while your at it i suggest that you bring your minimum order down too, you’ll get hundreds more orders! and get your self a lairy bright colorful menu like WOW with delicious food on the front cover! lets face it the door2door menu sucks there’s not even pics of food on the covers to get you in the mood! who does your marketing!?? this is the worst marketing ever! D2D must be 3 years old and still has that nasty brown menu that makes people want to be sick not order food.

I wonder if all the people using waiters on wheels where D2D customers who have gone south? I wonder if D2D have felt a drop in orders since WOW copied the D2D idea and set up shop.

If the service works well for you that's great.

I don't really order "meals" but usually a burger, pizza, or sandwiches and all these travel pretty well. The times I have ordered full meals the food usually is not very good. For some reason, it seems to looses something in transition from the restaurant to my home. Basically, anything hot dish is placed in a plastic baggie or Styrofoam container and cooks or steams another 10-30 minutes till it gets to your home...so all the food gets overcooked and often soggy.

Many restaurants do in fact have their own delivery services WITH their own hotbox equiped motos. As to waiting for food, maybe this is the case but I have often been in places and seen the delivery guys come in and pick-up food that has already been sitting around for a few minutes after being cooked (and cooking in the containers some more).

I cant understand why waiters on wheels has some of the same restaurants as D2D, surely that is a bit out of order by the restaurants, now these companies are having to compete on service when it didnt need to be like that.

It would be irrational to think D2D had a exclusive on any restaurants, the restaurants are in business to sell as much food as they can. If WOW had to exclude the restaurants that D2D had included it would narrow their market tremendously.

Never tried either as i get something before i go back home(munchies).the mexican wagon on soi bakhew is good, but the best pizza by far is globetrotter and free delivery if you order direct.Used them a couple of times and very very nice, despite i am not realy a fast food person. No point ordering from d2d as a direct call is always better..the menu is in the d2d book.

Forgot to say,the owner lives next door to me so no problems finding me with a hot delivery lol.

One of the best for thai considering they specialise in european food,so farang and thai happy to eat there.

I just ordered from waiters on wheels. heres what happened.

I ordered online because i havent got a menu booklet yet. and because i wanted it to be easier than phoning them.

the online ordering system is easy and good. it tells you how much your order is. and exactly what you are ordering before you CLICK "Submit order"

after i ordered it. it says "Someone will call you back within 5 mins" to confirm order

I waited 10 mins, and then they called.

This is where is gets slightly frustrating. she repeats every single part of what i had put online back to me!

my address, my order, my written directions for driver and tips and hints that i had put to make it easier for him. this took 6 mins!! really annoying with the language barrier..

basically it was a waste of time ordering online, it would have been far quicker and easier if i had phoned them and ordered it. at least then i wouldnt of had to wait 10 mins for them to phone me back only to repeat every single detail back to me. it took 16 mins from when i submitted order online to when i finished repeating order to the lady who called to confirm order.

she then said delivery will be before 1 hour.

I complained and said basically it should only be 30/40 mins, NOT 1 hour. she said it wont be 1 hour it will be under 1 hour. I said OK.

I ordered:

Indian food. chicken tikka masala curry, nan bread, pilouh rice, 330B, plus 60 delivery plus 10% service.

total 429B Not bad.. i am happy with the price.

I was very pleased that The delivery was here within 30 mins of when i had confirmed my order!

great timing considering i am deep in jomtien. the guy looked smart and had a nice shiney bike with HOT box on back. the food was still hot.

I look forward to using them again but will phone the order next time!

* If anyone from waiters on wheels is reading this I suggest that when you get an order online, just call the person back only to briefly make sure its a real order. no need to repeat the entire order and directions back to me! I already know it and have submitted it perfectly online. just check its a real order, and confirm total price and thats it! Also you got to call them within the agreed 5 mins, i thought that I had been forgotten until they phoned me after 10 mins of waiting.

I will use again for sure,

I don't really order "meals" but usually a burger, pizza, or sandwiches and all these travel pretty well. around for a few minutes after being cooked (and cooking in the containers some more).

Burgers would have to be one of the worst travelling foods.

Proper McDonalds franchises will not serve a burger over 10 minutes old....they throw them out. As soon as a hot pattie is placed in the bun, the lettuce loses its crunchiness, while the ketchup makes the bun soggy.

I'm not sure if Thailand's McDonalds stores are as strict, but a travelling food it most definitely is not.

I like the WOW pattaya web site, you can order online and save the annoyance of having to speak to a thai operator when you phone, repeating everything over and over, and save the price of the phone call.

Their minimum order is only 150 baht!! great news for single bloke in condo, door2door has min order of 250 baht. I never use door2door, basically if your a single bloke in your condo wanting a snack like toasted cheese sandwich and chips door2door is not cheap. you will get charged the min order 250 baht then 10% service charge then 70 baht delivery charge, so all of a sudden your sarny and chips that should cost 160 baht is now 350 and you will give a tip to the driver so your almost upto 400 baht if you use door2door for a snack.

why dont they think of the single man who wants a snack and doesnt want to pay 400 baht. they must be loosing out on hundreds of orders... they just dont cater for guys who want something delivered for about 200 baht. if they didnt have the stupid minimum order i would order all the time, I cant be alone? there must be hundreds of blokes who only want toasty and chips or something small, these are the guys who are penalised by the minimum order rule and probably the guys who never use door2door for this reason. surely all these 200/250 baht orders are worth something too? think of the volume

anyway, im going to try wowpattaya.com tonight and order online and see how it is. the fact that the minimum order is only 150 makes it much cheaper for me!

eg: 2 battered sausages and chips = 165, plus 60 baht delivery plus 10% service = 247 baht total. im only paying 82 baht for delivery, so considering they have to order it for me, go and collect it, put it in their HOT box and transport it to me hot to jomtien for 82 baht sounds too good to be true.

if i order from door2door i have to pay 250 baht min order.

eg: Sausage Roll with Chips & Baked Beans = 215 from nikkies,

250B min order, plus 70 baht delivery, plus 10% = 353 baht.

over 100 baht more than waiters on wheels.

i will check back in later after i have tried the food and service.

no one on here seems to have actually tried waiter on wheels so it will be good to see how they turn out.

You must be looking at an old menu coz mine says 150 baht minimum order and the cover is BLACK and not brown. It is 2008 now, not 2006.

I rarely eat burgers, but when I do, I buy a take-away from Burger King, then leave it in its bag until it is cold then eat it for supper. I actually think they taste better after cooling and standing.

In a similar reverse case. I do not like to eat a cheese sandwich that has just come out of the refrigerator. I prefer it to have reached room temperature until I eat it. I also think it tastes better.

Back to WOW: Has anyone experienced the food from the 'Sailor Inn'? It advertises its food on pages 60/61. The photograph of the 'Brun bifflapskaus' on page 61 looks very tempting. I wonder if it tastes as good as it looks?

Hello Ruds

We do not have the pleasure of a door2door menu but on their web site it says 250 baht min order.

I was not aware that it had been reduced to 150 min order?

can anyone confirm if this is true and when did it happen?

Media - your profile says 'Rayong'. Do you get WoW or D2D to deliver that far out? Must be on a Harley, with the meals glued to the cooling fins.

FunFun - he could order a nice cold beer from a Soi Yodsak bar with a bit on the side. May be a touch more expensive, but a bit of research would find the best value for money.

Maybe you could rustle up some pointers - and call for volunteer testers.

Suggestion for Bobby: I know the customer relies on fast delivery time, WOW want to give that time but sometimes it is not WOW's fautl that deliveries are late. I was at Cherry Restaurant the other night for dinner and watched WOW delivery person patiently waiting for over 20 minutes for the food to come out. It might be a good idea to time stamp time ordered from customer, time phoned into restaurant, write time picked up and customer sign time delivered to their home. It will show the competence or lack there of for WOW's records and verify to customer if order is late who to blame.,

ordered again today, lost my original details so had to go through it all again, tried to overcharge me by 320 Baht, service great this time and arrived hot and in good time.

The food from the India palace was crap, 7 measely x less than 1cm cubes of chicken in the 200Baht Korma, 2 legs of dried up tandoori chicken, half set, naan bread under cooked even when I asked for well done....great chicken pakoras though, very nice... all in all will give it a miss in the future, the wifes popped out for Khow Pad Gai for me as I am starving...anybody else had good experiences???

WOW seems like a good thing and I have only ordered twice from there, I think that Door2Door will still go well as overall I think its a better service and the restaurants are of a higher quality, the only real upside IMO for WOW regarding restaurants on their menu is cherries. :o
