Marrying A Thai, Maintaining My Us Citizenship And Residing In Thailand To Run A Business With My Thai Wife

Featured Replies

I am a US citizen of Korean descent marrying a Thai national... she is currently living in Switzerland. We want to reside in Thailand and run a business together. How do I become a permanent resident of the Kingdom of Thailand without renouncing my US citizenship, and what do I need to do?

To become a permanent resident of the Kingdom of Thailand will be hard to do. Probably takes many many years

Work here 3 years; get 3 years of visa extensions, pay tax. Front up with about 100k and apply. Will need work permit i.e. set up company, 4 Thai staff for one foreigner.

I can tell you more if you introduce me to some hot Korean women from US of A.

you are not applying for citizenship but pr.

if you are rich enough i believe the 10 million baht option is still available.

don't "believe", just quote facts :o no such thing like "10mm Baht option" does exist.

As far as your US citizenship goes, the only way that you can lose that is if you renounce it in front of a US government official.

I think there also some cases where if you were a naturalized US citizen, not one by birth, and you fraudulently got citizenship, the government may strip you of it.

1. Get married.

2. Apply for a Non Immigrant O visa based on your marriage to a Thai.

3. Come to Thailand and let your wife start the business.

4. With a combined family income of 40K baht you can extend your visa for one year.

Step 4 can be done ad infinitum.

Some might have a problem with the second part of step number 3.
