October 5, 200421 yr I have been using 'downlaod accerlerator plus' for a few years now and have had no problems. I was thinking of upgrading to the DAP 7, but have heard lots of bad reports about the amount of spyware associated with it. Can anyone recommend a similar product with similar tools that DAP offers...such as being able to resume downloads when line droppd etc. Thanks for your comments
October 5, 200421 yr i use stardownloader , and have no problem with it, it resumes dropped downloads, even if your connection has be cut, automatically. you can also schedule, but i haven't figure out how to use that yet. also, no adware or spyware that i am aware of. and integrates well with opera and aaiiieee.
October 5, 200421 yr Author Thanks for your reply Joka, i will check that one out. Does anybody have any views on Fresh Download? I just noticed it on a previous thread.
October 5, 200421 yr I find using Firefox that the downloader that comes with it is fine for everyday downloading. You can add an extension called Download Manager Tweak to fine tune it. I did use Fresh for a while as a few people recommend it but l didn't like getting mail on a regular basis trying to get me to use other programs they have so l got rid of it. Another popular downloader is Leech Get which l some times use. It's okay. A lot of downloaders come with a bit of spyware so do a search on either Lavasoft or Spybot where they had an article earlier this year about which downloaders to avoid.
October 5, 200421 yr I tried Stardownloader a while back, but never could get it to increase download speeds, despite playing around with the various settings. Anyone have any more luck?
October 7, 200421 yr hi' getright and flashget but they are not free ... worth to give a try though cheers francois
October 8, 200421 yr Author I just downloaded and installed Leechget 2004, and so far I am quite impressed. It has the windows format and alot more tools to use than DAP
