It is the shadow from the upper part of the cloud at the west end of the 'runway'. The top part of the big cloud is high up enough to cast a shadow at the thin clouds...

:D:o:D

Thank you "lingling". :D

But, it was a great Phenomena don’t you think ?

Have you ever seen something like this “lingling” ?

It is the shadow from the upper part of the cloud

Have you ever seen a cloud with straight lines?? Me never ?? -_-

Amazing Thailand still today.

Anyone else? :(

the cloud doesn't have to have a straight line , but the shadow made by the cloud will be projected as a straight line.

light travels in a straight line......even in thailand !

nothing too amazing about that.

Don't believe them. That is a alien UFO landing runway.

If light travelled in a straight line, then why are rainbows curved?

:o:D That's a better story.

Great picture.

Edited: In thinking about this some more. This is a good example of an answer to "Why is the sky blue". You can see the white clouds behind the runway; however, the refracted sunlight before the clouds is blue color.

The famous Golden Chedi of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Rajvoravihara, Chiang Mai, Thailand, 79 feet high and 39 feet across at its base, is covered with engraved gold plates…

On the platform around the Golden Chedi are four ornamental Umbrellas , brightly gilded and adorned with beautiful filigree decorations, while the walls of the surrounding cloister are painted with murals from the life of Buddha.

According to legend, Holy Relics discovered during the reign of King Kuena (1355-1385) were placed in a howdah on the back of a white elephant, which carried them to Wat Suan Dok. The elephant arrived at the site of Wat Phra That (Doi Suthep), and then dropped dead due to fatigue from the long journey.

The present complex dates from the 16th century and was expanded or restored several times later. A flight of 306 steps, bordered by a NAGA balustrade, leads up from the road to the temple, which has beautifully decorated buildings and a Lanna-style Chedi covered with engraved gold plates, flaked by four ornamental Umbrellas.
