Dear Sunbelt,

You were saying about the rules and regulation of internet cafe operation....

I am planning to open and internet cafe which operates of Internet Browsing and games but games i mean like Ragnarok or toks club the customer are free to use any kind of service with the computer....What if my customer that is above the age of 18yrs of age would like to stay late at night to play ragnarok are these legal ???

But of course i mean online games not that of Counter strike or roug sphere...

Sunbelt:

The Information and Communication Technology Ministry regulates Internet cafes and online game services. You have to obtain either a public internet service license or a online game services licenses. If its internet, you can be open 24 hours but with a online game service you must close at 10 p.m.

So can i abtain both these licence or i just need a to get the public internet service...

We are aiming for customer which is 18 years and above...what if i only obtain a public internet service licence and then my customer uses the CPU and plays online games after surfing the net...is this legal ???

regards,

Joe

liberiosyah :

For over 18's wanting to play Ragnarok after 10pm they must first go to the post office and fill out a form (proof of age is required) they then get a special username and password that they can use after 10pm when the normal Ragnarok servers are shutdown. There is of course nothing stoping an under 18 using his or hers older friends account to play after the curfew :o

For (some) game licenceing you need to look here.

http://www.bmmedia.co.th/shop_spec.html they only seem to have the rights to a few games though so what happens when you want to have a game like "Need for speed" ???? I don't know.

Ha ha answer my own question http://www.ea.co.th/

From what I have read the closing at 10 pm is still voluntary to do with the "Goodnet" scheme.
