Hi All. I've been a lurker here for a bit now and finally decided to join. Newly arrived to Thaiand, I found it all at first a bit overwhelming in many ways as I am the only American at my office and cannot speak Thai.

Guy I was sharing a drink with at a bar told me about this website and it has been a lifesaver, a fountain of information and a lifeline, just having a place to read more about Thai customs, life in Thailand and living here.

Big kudos to George, whom I gather is the owner, Dr. Pat Pong, Simon43, Sunbelt and IndoSiam as I can think of off the top of my head. You guys seem to really have a handle on this place and kindly offer all manner of information to people.

Have to say I am especially grateful that you seem to cut down on the pornographic type postings, because I don't really care for them. I do like that I can find out things about hospitals, restaurants, events, all great information.

Just wanted to at last join, say hello to all and commend the powers that be. From my looking about the internet, this is far and away the superior site regarding this lovely, quaint country, and the expatriots such as ourselves living here.

I hope to become a more active member if I can think of anything worth contributing.
