3rd Visa Almost Over

Featured Replies

I have done my 3rd visa run and now have 2 weeks before it runs out. I have a job that will give me a work permit and non b visa but i don't want to work for this company its not any good pay late and i pay for everything. I have a chance to work in a private school but they cannot give me a visa or work permit. my question is what do i do before i go to malaysia? is malaysia the best choice? how long do i stay? what visa do i get? what do i do after i recieve the re entry visa to stay longer???? this is so confusing! thanks for the help!

Simplest route at present seems to be to bus it up to Laos and get a tourist visa until you decide what's going on.

You will need a work permit to work in Thailand. So if the private school will not provide you with one, then you will be working illegally and subject to deportation if caught.

For staying without working, Vientiane in Laos is probably the best bet for a tourist visa. You could probably get a double entry one there.

Don't know if you are on a tourist visa right now, but if so, you can usually extend a tourist visa for 30 days by going to immigration and paying 1900 baht.

You will only be able to get a one year extension of stay based on work if you have a work permit and the salary meets the requirements and the company also meets the requirements.

Don't take the risk ..... more and more schools are 'raided' after the events of last year.

And why do we think the private school will pay you more money but no work permit..?..because they are compensating you for risking things with immigration as they know what you are doing is illegal, if they prepared to do that.... whats next ? they may not pay you ??...and what you going to do...go to the police........you have two choices...more than most people get...the right way and the wrong way...and seem to be choosing the wrong way

Greed over common sense.!!!....Go with the school who will sort out your WP at least they are prepared to show some commitment to you and legally you are covered...work hard and guess what you may get a pay increase....

Same advice as with Tomgakai, go with the bad paying school who is willing to get you legal!

I know the two weeks are awfully short (and it's school holidays anyway so not sure if that school's administration is open), but if they can get the paperwork for your visa sorted out, you can go get yourself a non immigrant straight away. Otherwise get a single entry tourist which will give 60 + 30 days of extra time to get things sorted.

Basically to be able to get the non immigrant (single entry), the school will have to apply for your work permit with all proper paperwork (regardless of your visa status), and if the labour department decides that you qualify for a work permit then they will issue you with a WP3 form.

This form basically states that you are checked out and will receive the work permit once you show up with a non immigrant visa! With this WP3 form the Laos Thai Embassy will issue you with a non immigrant-B visa (single).

Once you return on the non immigrant and you have the full paperwork (work permit), on your next visa trip you probably can get a multiple entry non immigrant visa, seems currently Singapore is a good bet for that, and then you are set for 15 months from then on. Then you'll have plenty time to find a new and better paid position!
