ezzra
Hi to all, Need your assistant in looking for the following: ( since other sources for such information are not available) I have been commissioned to locate area in Thailand where December January nightly temperatures reaches average 10c and day time temperatures 25c, The land area should be small to start with and a view to expend Soil composite should be mostly sandy loam or mix but should allow good water drainage, soil pH should be above 5.5, ideal would be 7 and up, Other factors such as rain fall, humidity and wind are not all that important, Mountain tops will not be any good, however low hills and moderate slopes Will work fine, Thanks,
SAP
North East Thailand Nongkhai/Udon/Sakon Nakon Has all sorts of soils types and the one you want can easily be found near the banks of the Mekhong. The weather conditions are as you ask for during December through to Mid Jan on average. Day time temps may reach 30*C sometimes though. pH are genreally lower than 5.5 due to excess use of acid fertilizer on rice, but this can always be adjusted up. There are lots of falungs out there wanting to do something with their land so should not be to hard to find. Just be wary if flooding in the wet season if this is a problem to you crop. My guess is that you are wanting to grow flowers or some kind of tuber crop SAP
Pond Life
The hills NW of Chiang Mai out to Mae Hongson at about 500m alt would fit the bill temp wise. Seems to be a mix of soil types, My PH is neutral. Hot & wet June to Oct, cool & dry Nov to Feb, hot & dry Mar to May. Sounds like youre looking to grow spuds. The area around Fang may fit but then again it may not. Keep us posted and we may be able to steer you into a general area.

ezzra
As I value all and any input of the members of this forum It no intention to keep secrets really, the requirements are for Olive groves who needs The winter chill to reset themselves in order to flower and fruit, Water is not an issue to concern with as it uses very little water In a way of drip irrigations, soil ph and soil make up can be corrected By several means and ways, weather however, is an issue most paramount For the tree to grow survive, There were several attempts made here in Thailand to grow olives trees Under the king’s patronage in the last 10 years with the help and advice Of several foreign experts, 1. Khon Kaen University. 2. Pupa Royal Development study Center Sakon Nakhon Province. 3. Development Center Cha-am Distric, Phtechaburi Province 4. Kasetsat University, Kamphaengssaen Campus,Nakhon Pathom Province. 5. Phurua Highland Experiment Station, Phurua District, Loei Province. 6. Khao Kho Highland Agricultural Experiment Station, Khao Kho District, Phethabum Province. As well as in Loei, Si Saket and Satahip Gov. agriculture centers, The bottom line of all the above experiments where all toll thousands Of trees of up to 30 varieties were planted, of which over half have died, The one that didn’t die didn’t grow well, the one that grow didn’t flower and the one that flowered lost the flowers few days later, Very few olives were ever matured from flowers to actual fruits, They too, didn’t last long and fell, They were all planted in wrong climate areas with no chilling periods and relatively high average temperatures, Therefore the search in earnest to find the right location and do it right, privately, and hope for the best,
