April 17, 200818 yr Hi All, If my wife wanted to sell our house in Thailand while we were in England, what would be the process. Could she arrange this without having to be present in Thailand? Nick.
April 17, 200818 yr I think she needs to be in Thailand for the sale. Quicksilva could probably give you the letter-of-the-law answer. Wait for his reply.
April 17, 200818 yr Couldn't a person sign a power of attorney agreement in Thailand with an agent before leaving and then have it sold later, even while not in Thailand? I was under the impression this is impossible. So, if so, couldn't the power of attorney agreement be sent outside Thailand, signed, and then sent back in?
April 17, 200818 yr Yes, you can do it. She will have to sign a power of attorney, not anyone but a special form from the land department. Also, they will need her Thai ID card signed, and you should make a sale agreement in writing, also signed. No copies. Original must be sent by mail from England to Thailand.
April 17, 200818 yr Author Thanks for your replies. So get the special form from the land office before she leaves Thailand, and once a buyer has been found fill in the land office form along with a sale agreement letter we make up. She signs all of these forms/docs and sends them along with her Thai ID card to a relative for example, who could mediate between my wife and the buyer. Can the money once it has been paid into her Thai bank account be easily transfered to the UK, again while she is outside of Thailand?
April 17, 200818 yr Here are the Power of Attorney forms Also Signed Copy of ID card and House Paper (maybe) Signed Contract between the seller and buyer
