I was just wondering if there is a way to find out how many people are more or less "dedicated" users of the Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao thread.

I wonder if there are statistics on this and other things, for instance how many regular posters are men and how many are women.

Any thoughts on setting up a poll or polls, or is this information already somewhere (in a moderators only thread, perhaps?).

I get the feeling our aggressive friend joey talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk, to coin an american expression. If nothing else the poll would be interesting from a demographic (to this forum) point of view, and it's hardly likely to offend anyone. Maybe we could poll how many people posting on this forum have said they would do something (e.g. move here to set up a business) but in fact not actually done it?

Go for it mark, the moderators gave it the green light and if some people don't like it, they don't have to take part - time to lighten up and have fun isn't that right?

I have to say that I am constantly amused at the inability of some people to actually read posts (not only mine).

I raised the prospect of a census and gave as AN EXAMPLE how many regulars are men and how many women. I never said that this would be the only area of interest, but some seem to have very narrow minds.

Possible other questions could be:

-- Do you use the other forums on Thaivisa? Often/sometimes/rarely/never.

-- Are you a man or a woman? (I think ladyboys would be a statistically insignificant number)

-- Are you retired/a business owner/long-time visitor (work in home country and reside for part of the year here)/have been a tourist here/just a guest on the site -- never been to the islands?

-- Age?

-- Own a scooter/overkill bike/car (truck)?

-- Where do you live? (list the main areas of each island, poll to the closest one)

Once I get a good sampling of questions (please suggest) I will formulate a poll, if multiple questions like this are possible.
