US passport, started business in Phuket in '07, paid enough salary tax to qualify for 1 yr extension, now business is bad so reduced my stated salary, visa extension expires 9 May. Looking at either Singapore or KL for visa run and would appreciate any advice on necessary documents and cost. Thanks...

P.S. Probably leaving Thailand around Aug/Sep for a few years, so if there is a better way for me to stay here until then please advise. I figured since I was on the 1 yr extension and have a 1 yr work permit that would be the easiet route.

i heard Dallas gives them w/o alot of requirements, questions

Try for a double entry Non-Immigrant B visa. That'll give you 2 X 90 days with one border crossing.

Where is a likely place to apply for Non-B double entry visa? I was turned down for a multiple entry Non-B in KL three months ago and got only 90 days. The lady at the counter told me that my work permit was not 1 year. I told her that I had it already for over 2 years. She repeated what she said the first time and I really did not understand what she was telling me. I have since given up my work permit.

If you are not going to be working, then you should go to Vientiane Laos and get a double entry tourist visa, that would give you 6 months.
