Hi all,

I hope you can help me.

Last month I got my one year extension for my workpermit.

Next week I have to go back to Chiang Mai Immigration for my one year stamp (Non O) visa.

Yesterday an another company have offered me a very nice job in Bangkok.

Today I said Yes to them, my boss he don't know nothing about this, I wil wait till I get my one year stamp in my passport next week.

My questions:

-I have to apply again for a one year visa in Bangkok ater I changed my WP for me new job?

-Or it doesn't matter, so my stamp from Chiang Mai Immigration is also valid for Bangkok Immigration?

Thank you very much in advance,

GB

I can not stay based on that this visa what I got before?

Next week I will get my one year extentsion and in June I will change my job.

So when I finish my job and can't get another one, I have to leave the country whereas they have given my a one year visa one month before?

What you can obtain, meeting conditions, is a one year extension of stay of your current permitted to stay stamp from Immigration. When that extension of stay is based on employment it ends with the loss of that employment. If you have a valid multi entry visa you can use it to enter for a new 90 day stay. Otherwise you will have to obtain a new visa/entry.

It does not matter on what type of non-immigrant visa you entered Thailand. In your situation it is important for you to know for what reason you obtained your one-year extension of stay. Was it for living with your Thai wife, or was it for employment? Look at the extension stamp. There should be a Thai text indicating the reason for extension.

If the extension you get next week is for living with your Thai wife, then it will remain valid after your employment in Chiang Mai ends, and in Bangkok you simply have to apply for a new work permit.
