I was talking to this guy who said he had two friends, one owned a Harley Davidson and the other one owned a Triumph. Every time they met they would argue about which bike was better - the electrics, the handling, the power etc.

But there was one thing the both of them had in common:

They both owned a Jap bike as well, so they could be sure to get to work on time!

Haha....very good! I would agree with you 15 years ago!! But now :o ??

Hate to burst your bubble and those of you who also think that Harleys are ubnreliable :D ? I don't know how many times I have had other bikers ask me am I not fed up fixing the thing. I have over 200,000kms up on them in 10 years and had ONE breakdown...a cog came loose in the gear box and fixed in a day.

On Tuesday I am off to Alaska where I have bought a Harley and will ride it down through some of the most isolated regions in the world (Alaska and BC in Canada) to San diego and reckon on close to 10,000 kms. I don't even think of the bike not getting me there. It better!! I am on my own and no back up....that's how confident in the Harley. After the Evo 1340 engine things changed for the better.

Still....like the post!! :D

if you had a Japanese bike, your back would be ruined after 200 kms - you need the rideability of a Harley to cruise the sort of distance you are going
