Checker
Will be moving to live about 10 k's west of Don Muang airport in July. I notice that there are 2 golf course north and 2 golf courses south of where I will be living. Does anyont know the name's of these courses? I can check the rating on Thaigolfer once I know which one's they are. Looking to eventually join a golf club however I will wait to see what is about . . . Are there any golf societies run by ex-pat's in this area?
p_brownstone
Are there any golf societies run by ex-pat's in this area? Hmmmm Believe it or not the majority of Golfers in Thailand - and the majority of Golf "societies", or groups - are Thai. If you are intending to socialise only with "ex-pat's (sic)" why bother to come at all? Patrick

Checker
I have played with many golf societies throughout Thailand and asia which are run by expats. So before you mouth off make sure you know what you are talking about. I have lived in Thailand on and off for many years and the last thing I wish to do is associate with expats particually those who are rude as yourself . . . So you may now go back to your little bar with your little girlies and your large gut . . . If anyone else has the information I am after it would be greatly appreciated . . . Muang Ake is ok..we are members...think going rate for membership now is about 380,000Baht So look on www.thaigolfer web site...Muang Ake and then look at the map. Chuan Chuen, Tanyatanee, Lam Lukka and several other are around that area. Sorry can't help you with expats golf society however you could maybe ask at each golf club. My goodness you do get excited easily don’t you – I’m very happy to know that there is little chance of meeting you on a Golf Course. We both made assumptions, at least mine were based on facts you provided – and the import of which you confirm in your second Post. Needless to say your assumptions about me are very wide of the mark and expressed merely in an immature attempt to cause offense. Patrick

dclaryjr
We both made assumptions, at least mine were based on facts you provided A guys asks a question on a forum populated mainly by expats, on a topic filled with posts about expat golf societies in Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and elsewhere, and you assume he doesn't want to associate with Thai's? His reply may have been a little over the top, but the opening shot in this exchange of rudeness was yours.
ilyushin
RTAF has two golf courses in Don Muang, RTA has course A and B on Ramindra Road not far from Laksi Monument, Muang Eke and then just up the road in the same area is Vista which is also lighted for night golf, Bangkok Golf Club north of Don Muang Airport, AIT Golf cousre next toThammsat University in PhatumThani, Krung Kravee Course, Lam Luka Golf Club, Alpine Golf Club, Pinehurst Golf Club, Tanyatanee Country Club and there are moreincluding Northern Rangsit course. sweetchariot
The golf course in the middle of the airport always made me laugh, would be good fun to try.
cymruambyth1
Bangkok Golf Club. About 15 minutes drive from your intended area and the best in that region bar none. Great course with lightening fast greens, tight fairways and 4 excellent par 3's. You will be here outside the mad Korean rush-hour for the course and believe me, it knocks all the others in the area into a cocked hat. I - blowing my own trumpet - play off 3 everywhere else, but I have never got near my handicap at BKK G C. Enjoy!
Checker
Thanks cymruambyth1 If you are playing off 3 I will make sure I avoid you on the course (any course for that matter) . . . I look forward to having a look at BKGC. Sounds challenging . . . which is why we play I guess.......

Played BKK G C a few times in fact its the only course I have played in Thailand and I am only a beginner but had plenty of enjoyment there. There is also a 9 hole par 3 course at the entrance to the club which is supposed to be a copy of some of the hardest par 3 holes in golf. Ted Lawrence
I no longer live in Thailand, but the Bangkok Golf Club was by far my favorite course. The par 3 is the best par 3 I have ever played. If we were fortunate enough to return to Thailand I would certainly join the BGC again.
