Mothersday In Thailand

Featured Replies

I will send some flowers to my mum and thought it is a nice move to do the same to my girlfriends mum. Is there something like Mothersday in Thailand? If not I guess I will have to explain her what it means.

It exist..

Only we call it Queen's Day as well, and it falls on the Queen's birthday.

I dont remember when it is though.

August 12

Don't forget Family Day

They also consider Mothers Day to be the Sunday in Sonkran when they pour water over the eldest female.

Strange as my family call is Mother's Day, Wan Mae.

There is also Father's day on the Kings birthday, 5th December. Wan Pae

Are there any special rituals for these Thai mother's and father's days?

Much the same as in your own country.

A gift for father, or mother. :o

Gold is highly appreciated, especially by the ladies.

If you are a parent, make sure the children also have a small gift to give.
