Hi there, ive just missed my boat that would get me to immigration (in nathon) on time to extend my 60 day tourist visa by 30 days. They are open monday to friday 0830-1530 correct ? My visa expires Saturday 10th. I will go to Samui now on Sunday the 11th so I can be early at immigration on monday morning. Please could you tell me if i will still get a 30 day extension (after paying the 1 day overstay fee? ) or will they just give me 7 days?? British passport holder, travelling on a 60 day tourist visa issued at Vientiene. Thanks

Being a holiday believe they will provide normal extension of stay - perhaps someone has been in that position?

I can't say for sure, maybe someone else will enlighten us, but I'm pretty sure you're screwed as far as getting the 30 day extension goes if your visa has expired.

You may be lucky and get some reprieve as your visa expires on a day when they are closed, but this is Thailand Immigration we're talking about here, so I doubt it. Good Luck. Maybe you should call them on 0 7742 1069

Holiday in the sense that the office is not open (if workday is Mon-Fri as posted). His visa is good until Saturday so he should have been able to extend that day if immigration was open.

i think i could get to burma for a VOA, my last set of 3 VOA were dated: 15 sept 07, 13 oct 07, 11 nov 07. then i went o Laos and got a 60 day TR and extended that by 30 days in samui until 10 March then i went to Laos again and got another 60 day TR it was the extension for this visa that i missed today. it expires tomorrow so i should be able to go to Burma tonight on night boat and be all good for tomorrow. Can someone clarify this for me please. If you need anymore info on dates etc please ask. Kap

I believe you are talking about the 30 day Visa Exemption stamp?

Visa on Arrival is not generally available at the land borders.

As your recent 180 day period has finished you should be OK for

a new 30 day stamp if you hop over to Burma.
