Ecu Check (car Computer System)

Featured Replies

Since the check engine light came up in my car I looking for a garage who can check the ECU for my Hyundai. AFAIK there is no Hyundai garage in Pattaya. Anybody knows a garage in Pattaya?

Isn't the check engine light only there to tell you of a possible problem with the fluid levels rather than an ecu fault?

could be it's rather something with the ignition system. I felt like the engine was running on only 5 instead of 6 cylinder for a short time but after that returned to normal

I use a guy just along Sukhumvit as you turn left at Klang. He's just the other side of the small soi past the BIG CHAIR outside the furniture shop.

He has a computer to check the engine.

I'd suggest going to a dealer / service facility - even in Bangkok if there is none in Pattaya. They will have the correct computer, connectors et al for your car, and the knowledge to translate the computer results.

We had the same problem: check engine light came on in our previous car, a Mitsubishi Lancer. The computer reported that we needed a new Exhaust O2 sensor and a new Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor. No one makes aftermarket / jobber sensors- we had to buy the OEM parts from Mitsu. Bummed me out- not enough change from 20 K baht to buy a cup of coffee.

Going to the dealer's service center might not save any money but it will ultimately save you time and grief when Somchai's garage doesn't have a clue, and end up going to the dealer anyway.
