May 24, 200818 yr I am thinking about buying an IPHONE in the U.S. When I take it to Thailand, will I be able to use the phone part? In the US, i think it has to have an AT&T contract to work, but is there a sim card or something else to get a working account in Thailand? Will the maps part work too? thanks
May 24, 200818 yr I had an IWATSU desktop IP phone here. It worked back in September fine but after I moved I couldn't get it working again (or I should say my company's IT dept couldn't). Now they had me install an IWATSU SoftPhone which doesn't have any harware cluttering up my desk or using any USB ports. It's much more convenient.
May 25, 200818 yr Yes, it will work. Download Ziphone to unlock and activate the phone, then plop in any sim card you want and use it here. The way it works is before you even use the iPhone you connect it to the computer via USB and run Ziphone. Ziphone will unlock and activate, and after that you can use it like any normal phone...
May 25, 200818 yr It should work in the most part, although not sure about getting the Voicemail icon to link to your local (Thai) provider's number.
