few days ago we had a pretty major flood in our kitchen as one of our water connection blew out at around 4am. 2 Inches of water over the entire house later when I woke up at 6. Anyway now 2 days later the furniture in the kitchen especialy the corners are covered with a pink/orange mold pretty thick. When you clean it up it pulverizes into dust. I treated it all now with pure bleach but still seem to be persistant not that much though so the bleach seem to be effective but does anyone of you know what kind of mold it is and what to use against it to get rid of it more effective?

Thanks

If you can find X14 Made in America It will eat up any mold or mildew. we used to use it for flooding in California & Hawaii.

True Value would probably be your best bet. It may be under a different name. Naval Jelly is now made by Permatex. So you might have to hunt for the right concoction!

Did you ever check out the push mower you posted about?

nah never found a push mower everything you find here is autamated.

anyway back the mold just did a complete sweep again with bleachso no piture now but when it returns I will post a picture hope not though.

i think you may have to replace the kitchen units , they are usually made of compressed particleboard and when they get wet they swell and deform and will never regain their original shape.

until the area that has mold is 100% dry the mold will never go away , it is the moisture that supports it and the mold will have penetrated the wood.

a hardware store may be able to provide some chemical treatment to kill it.

breaking it off will release millions of spores that will just spread the fungus to wherever they land.
