Terrible Service At Tony Fitness (3rd Road)

Dmitry

Recommended Posts

Hello,

There is a boy at receipt, who today told me that I'am honey, And many other gay-like words, Ie he behaved like a gay, what the hel_l was that? This insulted me greatly.

2 working girls at receipt start laughing at this situation which put me really in bad mood. This is very amateur service, I can't believe my ears actually... Being the expat I know what most tai male people think about most farangs coming to Pattaya, but I would expect those who work in farang service would at least keep their thoughts inside of them.

Dmitry

you're not gonna last very long in Thailand if things like this bother you!

thanks for reply - good advice actually. :o but keep in mind that i'am from the country in which the joke like this can lead to sevier body damage of the clown.

I hear you! It's hard at first to take this lightly, but you'll get used to it after awhile. Best thing to do is smile (take it as a compliment) and move on. Thais are Thai. They'll never be like westerners.

You must be a pretty decent looking guy. Take it as a complement and leave it at that.

I've never had such comments at "receipt" at Tony's and I've been going there for over a year already.

Well yes, there are different countries in the world you know, in ones there are gay parads every week, others are more 'traditional', besides mine carries really bad times with huge population drop down for the last 20 years and being more

'traditional' helps is battling population declining

Anyway, i was serviced by a lot of tai people for the last time, and never had any big issue with them (i closed my eyes on little ones), this is first time and pretty out of line. :o

Yes, I'am putting this on a joke, but do not want for it to happen again :D since i'am planning to pay for Tony Fitness visits, since I still like it. :D

and you should keep in mind you are no longer in your own country - you're in someone else's country and they are very likely NOT to behave like Russians.

You gotta turn the tables on him.

Next time he flirts with you, smile and blow him a kiss.

Then say, "Come on over here, give me a hug."

Then when he hugs you, lick his face, and make sure you lick his eyes too.

:o Yeah, the complimenter will either come out of his semi-transparent closet or forever regret his insensitive joke to an obvious foreigner.

For a year I swear my Thai barber was flirting with me, when every time I stepped out of the barber chair he commented enthusiastically "You are SO handsome!"

I lived with this fantasy self-image until one day, when I was waiting to get my hair cut, a 90-year old toothless, hairless, wrinkled farmer stepped out of the chair after a shave, and....you guessed it..... :D

Don't be too impressed: Maybe you're just one in a the crowd, Honey.

indeed there are - but most migrated to other countries already... like US

what happened to the ones who come to Pattaya :D

Most Post-Soviets do not stay for longer, english language problems, communication problems, mental problems :o but if stay for a long time, most of them have a farang wife / girlfriend. The later always amuses me :D

Hey Dmitri,

получите жизнь :D

Or go home and help out with the population crisis. Someone as hetero as you could make a big impact.

--------------Russian language text deleted------------

(The above is an apology. I'm not usually the "go home if you don't like it" type)

EDIT: Our forum rules state that the language used on this board will be exclusively English (apart of course from the Thai Language part!

Well there ARE some very handsome Russians. Remember the guy in Dr. Zhivago?

but Omar Sharif is NOT Russian - his mum is British and dad Egyptian :o As a matter of fact none of the main characters in Dr. Zhivago are Russians.

same old story - what you know about russians and russia - vodka, balalaika, and doctor Zhivago ("culture" part, hahaha), but this is a look via broken glasses (made in GB btw). and dont mix russians and soviets - they are different nations.

Hi Dmitry,

I got a question for you.

Is it true that smiling is a sign of weakness in Russia?

I read that somewhere not too long ago.

If that is true and I don't know....that would be an interesting experience for a Russian in Thailand to say the least.

Always wanted to ask a Russian if what I read was true....

Thanks

I think someone should explain to the op that violence in Thailand is a no no even if you have been in the Soviet special forces blah blah because as sure as eggs is eggs they will get you and it ain't the gym you'll be going to but rehab.

Dmitry - from your replies it seems like you're a nice guy and open to criticism and suggestions - These are good qualities in a person. Now back to your original posting about a gay boy calling you darling or whatever at Tony's Gym: Maybe you should just take it as a complement and not let it ruin your day. If you are comfortable enough with who you are, a remark like this should not be threatening to your manhood. Consider all the prejudice and harrasment gay people have experienced thru the years. Thailand is a country where people can feel safe to be whoever or whatever they are sexually - unlike most western/developed countries (including Russia).
