Siki Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I have been very pleased for a number of years with my Yahoo home page. My email feed on to the page as well as the RSS feeds for various sites that I like to read were easily accessed. In the past several months Yahoo has come out with several “new” home page features and “great” new features for access to the email. In each case the deal is that you have to click through more pages to get to the items that you really want to view. I want to look at other homepage possibilities with less marketing. Does anyone have a home page that they really like and that allows quick access to email and other items. These yahoo. marketing guys a ruining a good thing. Thanks Aloha Siki

Thanks Aloha Siki I still use Yahoo, BUT, not the new "IMPROVED" version. Once you are signed in to the new page, scroll down to the bottom and choose change back. It will then always open the original page. I can see why Yahoo has problems. Everything they "IMPROVE" stinks.
dclaryjr Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I've used Google for several years--easy to customize.
Rice_King Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Netvibes rocks. http://www.netvibes.com/ I will second that vote for Netvibes. If I may apply the word "sexy" to a news aggregator then so be it Netvibe's case. I have four tabs in my Netvibes page, two of which ares NEWS and TECH. Under the TECH tab, I have news feeds from Wired, CNet, PC WORLD, SLASHDOT, DIGG, TECHDIRT, REUTERS TECHNOLOGY NEWS, and about a dozen more. This way, I get the latest tech news directly from the source -- thus eliminating the need to read Reimers "regurgitated" versions.
Wolfie Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I like to use the iGoogle homepage, this gives me easy access to my email, the news feeds i like to keep in touch with and also a few other feeds i keep an eye on. Plus its nice and fast and has the search box at the top. You can customise it with your own 'theme' if you want to.

I have several RSS feeds of bloggers I read as well as news & sports.
dominique355 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Netvibes rocks. http://www.netvibes.com/I have been using it for some time now and really enjoy what they offer. Give it a try! WARNING! Ok I tried and opened their web-site. First thing, they ask me for my e-mail address and the password! Now that's weird! Why do they need the password to my e-mail? Sounds very suspicious to me and I don't want to give my password to third persons. What is your experience? Why do they need the password to my e-mail account?

Netvibes uses your email address in lieu of a username. You DO NOT and SHOULD NOT use the same password as you use for the email you provide them. You will receive a confirmation sign-up in an email to the address you specify. Use the (new) password you provided to login to Netvibes, use your email password for your email. I like to try new things and this one may have a lot of things going for it but with my EDGE Internet connection it is pathetically slow.
