Some friends of my wife found one in the hills and fetched it home. Apparenetly they are taking it to the local Wat. When I aske her why they just didn't leave it alone, she said someone might catch it to eat. This one was big about 24 inches long and 15 or 18 inches wide. It's shell was mostly black. I just thought it had lived a long time without being eaten so obviously knew how to hide. Any idea how their age is worked out? I thought it was to do with counting the growth rings on the shell. If so this one was about 50 or 60, but I'm not sure. Also, any ideas as to what species it may be?
