Do you get on well with Thai People?
But what about the combined 37% of voters who don't get along well with them? Shall we just ignore them? -

Deterioration of Dining Quality and Experience
Frankly speaking (and with due respect) if you really believe that the ‘only reliable and consistently good experience has been with Starbucks’, then I believe you set the bar unusually low when it comes to food. No surprise you get food poisoning. -

Japan dethrones Thailand as top tourist spot
Thailand rules! I can only imagine the ladies in Japan being way too expensive for short time! -

Pathiu flooding?
You should be fine. This news blip states problem (Sawi district) is 100 kms south of Pathio District. Even that is 10 days old. There's a nice coffee shop/restaurant along the way, if wanting a break after 2hrs driving. Ban Jib.. Just off the main road. Do a nice Green Curry Chicken w/Roti, and Khee Mao. Decent deserts. The Garage Cafe on the Northbound lanes is decent also. -

Border run to either Ranong/Myanmar or Vientiane friendship bridge
This is from OP. Given that he obtained a 60 day visa exempt+ 30 day extension I would not recommend a same day flight out and return looking for visa exempt entry. OP stick with idea of land borders. You won't have a problem. BTW you mentioned Vientiane. Recent report even that crossing appears to be requesting overnight stay. -

Belgian 80, Attacked and Robbed by Teenage Gang on Christmas Day in Pattaya
whilst it could feel that way, i have lived here thru the covid period from beginning to end and saw a lot of poverty and dependence on food hand outs, but i can not say it was more dangerous, or that it felt more dangerous. Probably this was due to the fact that Pattaya became very empty with most with family upcountry went there, rather then staying in Pattaya with now work (and arguably few people to rob )
