hi all, i am an american and am going to be leaving Thailand later this month to visit London for a few weeks, i was wanting to go to the Thai Consulate in London to apply for a tourist visa to return back here, but have no clue what to expect as an american heading into the thai consulate in London, should i expect any problems and does anyone have a clue what visa options might be available to me at the London branch?

any heads-up would be most appreciated, thx in advance friends..!

Depends on your Thai visa history in your current passport I think. I have had people say to me that they were told "you can get a 30 stamp on entry" or "you have too many stamps already" to "you must be working so no more visas!". The best and safest option is to post to a consulate (from the U.K. of course-Hull has the best reputation, but Cardiff and Birmingham are also good) and apply for a double or triple entry tourist visa. You can download the form, send that, your passport, two photos and the fee(sorry - can't help there). It does seem to me that Embassies are stricter than consulates. My Japanese wife can't get a tourist visa from the Tokyo embassy for love nor any amount of money coz ,again, they say"youcan get 30 days at the airport", and the fact that she has many extra pages in her passport full of visas from Penang and Viantiane.Others will no doubt tell a different story, but that's good. You can then formualte your plan of action.

As above, I reckon you would be better off mailing your passport and application to Hull. Whilst you're at it you might as well apply for a 12 month multi-entry non O visa, Hull will issue these for the purpose of 'visiting friends' in Thailand. Well at least they do for UK citizens, can't see why it would be any different for the OP.
