Cool, any idea where I could get timetables? I tried googling but didn't find anything. I don't know the name of the ports.

ETA bummer! Thanks anyway....

Spending three weeks in Thaialnd. Visiting Samui/Phangnan/Tao and Bangkok would loved to have made it to one of those islands as well. Probably staying away from Phuket/Pee Pee/Chang Mai in hope of catching the sunshine on the East.

don't know what fun fun is talking about, you can not get to koh chang or koh samet by sea from the southern gulf islands as far as i know. you have to either go back up to bangkok and make your way over, or as he says fly to pattaya and go from there.

Easiest, quickest way to K. Chang from BKK is via Trat. Usually 2 flights a day.

For the future, it is planned to start a ferry service from Samui to K. Chang. Alas to late for your itinerary. It is also on the PG future plans.
