Seo - How Hard Is It To Do?

Featured Replies

Hello, can someone advise me how to SEO my site or put me in touch with someone to do it for me?

Is it just a case of making sure the keywords are the same on top and bottom of page?

any help and or contacts appreciated.

Krap Khun Krap.

Have a read of My site and Google for some practical advice. The best way to boost your search engine ranking is simply to have good/useful content. There is no magical way to put your site on the front page of Google.

Be warned that 95% of people selling SEO are cranks and/or spammers (actually, make that 99%). I'm sure you will have a few offers in hand already.

Simply not true, but I agree that you have to chose carefully.

But that"s the case with any computer related work, isn't it?

The best experts on SEO are the folks at Google and they aren't talking, other than to say that they continually tweak their system so the parameters change.

Well good SEO experts are rarely offering their services because they are busy building their own sites. Everything else wouldn't make sense. Why should I depend on the payments of regular clients if I can create and automated online business that gives me the freedom to do what I want?

Before you spend money on a SEO join www.seobook.com. This site is by Aaron Wall one guy that really deserves to be called an expert and he has a course for newbies.

I have been to one meeting of SEO "experts" here in Bangkok and they were a joke. Automated directory submissions and keyword stuffing.... they offer their clients services that might have worked some years ago.

Utter rubbish. I know several people who work in SEO and they provide a 1st class service. SEO is a vital part of running a website and if you cant do it yourself you need help.

There, free practical advice from one of the 99% of SEO scammers out there. The google link he provided is a great place to start but dont just accept advice as fact because someones an "advanced member" what a joke.

For me SEO has become a misnomer, it should be Site Exposure Optimisation. The key is to decide what you want your site to do, in simple terms if the goal is to sell a product, then define the target audience and then design the site to fulfil their expectations. One advantage of an independent SEO is that by definition they bring to the site an externalised view, and if they are professional an understanding of how a site my be configured to meet the target requirements.

Repetition helps but should be in a manner which is realistic, so that key elements are correctly show. The use of Flash should be managed, and tags applied to ensure search engines see the relevant content.

Regards

lol...you make me laugh...im sure that you are aware of DO's and Don'ts in Google's eye..

google can detect easily if you are doing a blackhat technique lol...

Be warned that 95% of people selling SEO are cranks and/or spammers (actually, make that 99%).

I will agree with that. Just do it yourself, it worked for me.

SEO is something you can do best if you run the site and know what you are talking about. Don't think some Indians or Thais can write you some articles submit them and this will boost you to the first page of the SERPS. I agree with A_Traveller SEO is much more than just onsite optimization and link building. It is approaching building a website with a complete concept when it comes to the branding, content, presentation, usability, stickyness... of the site.

Anyway while you might see an occasional interesting and qualified comment about this topic here on thaivisa I recommend you to spend some time in SEO forums (start with sitepoint), and stay away from hype internet marketers a la the guys from stompernet... they sell you yesterdays techniques and tools overpriced.

  • 3 weeks later...

as with everything, there are good, honest, skilled people

and vultures ... overpricing everything, like the work to be done, their knowledge ...

what clients must know is that there is no instant cure ... it takes several months before you can be well positioned in organic (non paying) search engine results

do you have a budget for your project ? ask some references ... not allways easy to verify as the company will not include the name of the seo agency that was hired to boost their business, right ?
