My single entry tourist is nearly expired (with the 30 day extension), and I have bought my plane ticket to go back to the UK, which is 9 days after my visa runs out. Is it possible to go to immigration and get another 9 day extension, showing my airplane tciket to go home? would rather pay 2000B+ than do a visa run

They will only give a max of 7 days, and possibly won't do that if you can't show a ticket within that timeframe. I think you are going to have to do a visa run. Only the 9 days you use will be counted against your future visa exempt allowance if you are intending to come back.
