Hi guys, could do with a bit of help from the experts here...

I'm arriving in the land of smiles shortly and want to stay for 3 or 4 months. However a week after I arrive I'm visiting Japan for a few weeks. Questions are... can I get a tourist visa from Japan(tokyo)? and are there still limits as regards both the amount of 30day stamps I can get and the period in between these? I have three already in my passport but these are from over 10 months ago, so am I right in thinking they no longer count?

Any advice or info would be much appreciated!

I would advise getting a two entry tourist visa in the UK before you travel or obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa from Hull or other small Consulate.

Do not believe Japan is happy to issue visas to non-Japanese but could be wrong.

There is no restriction on number of 30 day stamps - the rule is not more than 90 days in a six month period.

yep, hull sounds ya best one, ive never been but im told its very user friendly in and out 30 mins or you can post it (passport) norm 3/4 working days its back!

http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/

just looked at japans website, http://www.thaiembassy.jp/rte2/content/view/88/142/

dont know why i was looking to be honest, dont think they gonna write on web "we cant be bothered doing visas, so go elsewhere"!!!

but anyway ya could email em, but if you have time as lop says hull, now i dont know how much they are i think about 100 quid for a year one so if ya get a smaller one maybe cheaper say 60 quid (no idea) you might be as well to pay a bit more then ya covered for next years holiday maybe?

and i nearly forgot

Tokyo is not friendly to anyone with thai stamps in their passport and will normally refuse (I know from personal experience). But if you don't have any or just one or two dating back awile it is possible. U.K. as stated above is definately a better choice (Hull, Cardiff rather than London).

Been to Japan(tokyo) different times to get my thai visa, never had any trouble and they were very friendly and helpfull.

But its true what others are saying, it would make sense if you just got a visa from hull, I'd go for a multi entry non immigrant O.
