Tm 86 - Application For Change Of Visa

Recommended Posts

I've never heard of this happening before.. But it seems that the school where I works says that they can get one of their teacher a "B" visa without him having to leave Thailand.

They consulted another school which told them about this procedure.. Involving Form TM 86

I've seen the form and it does specifically say it's for changing your Visa into a Non-Immigrant "B".

The process hasn't been finalized for this teacher yet.. He went to immigration, but his Tourist didn't have the neccessary time remaining on it, and He didn't have enough money on him for both the Extension of his tourist and the "B" Visa application fee...

So he extended and will be going back again next week.

Lopburi.. have you ever heard about this happening ???

We are taking bets that next week Immigration will pull the rug from under this guy and send him packing to get the Visa at an Embassy somewhere.

Can this really be true???

TM 86... What up with this?

If you can meet the requirements for one year extension of stay the visa can be issued from a visa exempt or tourist visa with 21 days or more remaining. You obtain a non immigrant 90 day visa entry for a cost of 2,000 baht and then it can be extended for one year for another 1,900 baht.

The form can be downloaded here on ThaiVisa:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?au...amp;showfile=18

It is not specifically for a non-B visa but for a generic non-immigrant visa and can be used by anybody who arrived visa-exempt or on a tourist visa and qualifies for an annual extension for one of the reasons shown in Police Order No. 606/2549.
