Hi all

I have a double entry tourist visa. On Tuesday 10 June I am due to extend the first entry by 30 days. However do to another problem it looks like i can't get to immigration until Wed 11 or even Thur 12.

My question is - can I still extend my visa by 30 days AND at the same time pay for 1 or two days overstay?

I think you will get 7 days only.

Can you not go on Monday?

Thanks for the replies..

My problem is having handed in my passport to China embassy for visa (I need to go later this month, thereafter starting my 2nd entry).

I miscalculated they will hand back passport on 11th. Last day of my 1st entry is 10th.

Unless I can prize my passport back from china embassy 1 day early looks like I will have 1 day over when applying for 30 days.

get in toch with them tell em ya oversight see if they can help by giving it back in time or getting in toch with imigration for you, worth a try!

I still think you will only get 7 days.

How can they extend something that has already expired?

With luck they may consider his passport was unavailable (as a closing of immigration makes issue unavailable) and allow him to extend the full 30 days. I suspect if explained the result may be favorable.

Yes, looks like I will need to first try and get my passport back from the Chinese Embassy 1 day early and if I can't do that then try and explain at BK immigration that I am late due to the above (not sure how to prove the latter though). Either way I'd like to avoid starting my 2nd entry until I re-enter Thailand after 24-27 trip - that's why the 30 days are needed to cover until then.

I got a 30 day extension at Suan Phlu in a similar situation a while back. It was only on an overstay of a single day, but they gave the 30 day extension without any problems or needing an explanation. I was surprised as the extension they gave was actually 30 days from the day of the extension (so 31 days ahead of the original exit date), though I had to pay the 500B one day overstay fee first of course.

The answer is YES.

You will pay for the overstay and for the normal THB 1,900.- they Thai Immigration Officials will extent your visa for 30days.

However I recommend that you go to their Mainoffice in Soi Suan Plu.

That is good news and thanks for the information, I will go with that and also try and get my passport returned 1 day early from the Chinese embassy.
