Help needed with one question about UK frozen state pension.
What are you on about? The agreement is a matter of record, made into law years ago. I was responding to oxo1947 who asked if anyone knew the reason(s) for this being in place. I mentioned I didn't know the accuracy of this potential reason, but given that the purpose of these agreements is as below, it seems a valid reason, but again I don't know this, just read it somewhere in the past. They could fill that alleged 22bn black hole with the 22bn earmarked for Millibrand to distribute to newly set up "consultancies" etc. it's just a matter of "tough choices", put up with the backlash of pulling back the promised pork from their own, or filling the alleged hole in public services budgets. -

Marrying a Thai Wife: Overrated or Underrated?
You're comparing your relationship here to relationships back in the UK. Don't partners in The UK share funds? I would bet there are many women that do get a salary/budget every month. So you came here at 22 and married a Thai. First, 22 must have been a good time and wish I was here before my early thirties. Most expats here make much more than their partners and as happens in the UK, end up supporting their partners. Many of my friends fully support their wife back in the USA financially even though the wife is fully capable of working. If you were the exception and didn't make more than your wife, then not supporting her makes complete sense. If you made much more, like most here do, then not supporting her financially would be strange and selfish? -

I am fully in favour of healthy food, in particular reducing the use of pesticides and other chemicals in agriculture, and the use of additives in processed food. However, it will obviously require more regulations and constraints. It will be interesting to see how it will collide with Trumps pledge to cut regulations in order to increase performance and how the agri-business, which is a strong GOP backer, will react to it 😃
