Residence Visa For A Non Dependant 13 Y Old?

We're planning to bring my wife's nephew (age 12 to 13) over to study and stay with us in BKK. I should get a work permit and hopefully a 1 year visa ready in a few weeks .

How should we go for his own visa? Can we do everything through the school he will enroll or do we need to work this out through our own visa?
