I keep 'banging on' about it, as you put it because I am trying to work out what justification the UK government has for freezing the pensions of citizens that choose to retire in Thailand. They state that they have a social security agreement with the Philippenes (that country purely as an example). Instead of being simply insulting, why don't you explain what that is and why it should allow UK pensioners to receive their pension increases? The main reason I am refering to hospital treatment, should to most people who read my earlier post, be clear that what I am saying, and yes without any figures, is that people over pension age almost certainly cost the UK far more than younger people in relation to their healthcare and social care costs. Once they leave, those costs are gone so I'd take a wild guess that such costs in total, work out at far more than the cost of allowing them to receive their increases. By way of examples: UK government figures indicate that it costs £1200 per week to keep someone in a care home. My cancer treatment, if it had taken place after retirement (as is usually the case with this type) would probably have cost the NHS £500,000. Had I been living in Thailand, either myself or my insurers would have had to foot that bill. Whether it be on this thread or previous threads specific to the UK pension issue, I am yet to see anyone come up with a convincing explanation/justification as to why many retirees are not allowed to receive their penseion increases. All I do see is people like yourself, slagging others off or calling those who don't tell HMRC that they are living abroad, criminals. -

Been in Thailand for one week and my BO (body odour) has disappeared?
Quite possible swimming in a pool 4 times a day, treated with chlorine, would remove BO. OTOH, also possible breathing chlorine 4 times a day has killed his sense of smell.- 1
