Can I Extend/renew Multiple Entry Type O Visa In Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a Non Imigrant Visa, Multi entry, type O visa. In a few weeks i will my 90 days is about to expire. I have been told that i can go to the Immigration department at Sathon in Bangkok, present my passport etc and get this renewed there with out having to leave the Thailand and come back in.

Can anyone confirm that this is the case, please?

Can it be done for this type of visa?

How long does it take?

How much does it cost?

What type of documents do i need to take with me?

Any other useful tips and advise on this matter?

I have traweld through the internet looking for concise info but have not had much luck. Also been trying to contact Immigration dept to find out butt no bugger answers the phone!!

If anyone can help, i'd be grateful- thanks :o

Each entry is for 90 days. At the end of each 90 days you have to leave Thailand and come back again to get the next 90 days.

I your previous post last year you say that you have a Thai ID card so if you show up at Immigration with that I suspect they will provide a one year extension of stay on payment of 1,900 baht - have a current 4x6cm photo for the TM.7 application. If you have yourself listed on a home register I would also take that but it should not be required under section 7.22

You should really obtain and use a Thai passport for entry/exit.

oh bugger! i was hoping that i wouldn't have to leave!! What about a Visa run with some of these companies? I've been looking on various sites and it seems like its one day and back to cambodian border.

Would this work?

As Lopburi said. Why are you getting Visas if you are Thai. Get a passport.

Firstly go to Thai Immigration with proof of being Thai and they will give a years stay. Time to get your Thai passport sorted out.

The reason why i haven't done this yet is because i was told that dual nationality is not permitted in Thailand and i would have to give up my UK passport which i am unwilling to do. I'm not sure if this information is correct? I've tried to find out by looking on websites but no joy and calling the immigration office but no one picks up the phone.

Dual Nationality is allowed.

Dual Nationality is allowed.

Ok great!

Thanks for all your help and i'll make a trip down to the immigration and hopefully get it sorted.

Actually dual nationality is not officially allowed but, like in the US, there is no law that prevents it so it is accepted. Many hundreds, if not thousands, of Thai hold multi nationality passports.
