First, our older cat became lethargic and stopped eating and we took her to the vet and vet said [in his limited english] that she had the flu and Rxed antibiotics for a week. She got better, but now our new kitten is showing same signs and we called the vet at home because she was showing some high fever. he said give her same antibiotics and she is better today.

I think this all came about due to contact with a ferral cat that took up residence in a shed outside as my cats have no other contact with cats.

The wife says she heard on the news that there was a new strain of feline flu going around and I was wondering if other's have had experiences with cat flu?? and if it is a virus, then antibiotics don't cure virus.

get cats vaccinated with the feline shots to prevent getting some of the other cat diseases (panaleukemia, cat distemper, etc... sorry, not sure what the real english names are for them but its a four disease shot, not including rabies of course)...
