Could you please assist, I am asking on behalf of a friend of mine.

He is South African and is coming for a two week holiday in Thailand with his wife.

My question is :

Can they obtain a 30 day visa on arrival at the airport.

The reason I ask is if there are any visa restrictions relating to South Africans

Noted it is not really a visa, more permission to stay.

Yes South Africa is one of the countries allowed 30 day visa exempt entry.

same rules for thai citizens who visit south africa. stay for max 30 days visa on arrival.

This is not a Visa On Arrival. In Thailand it is a 30 day Visa exempt entry stamp. Not the same.

Hopefully he will listen and not get into the VOA line at airport. Can't count how many people who sure don't belong there, I have seen standing in line for something they don't need (and won't get). Probably pisses of the Indians that have to actualy get a VOA as well.
