Any Problem To Arrive To Thailand. . .

Featured Replies

I have heard some stories before about people have problem with one way tickets to thailand. . .

How is the situation now?

Airline might not let you board so yes its always a problem. :o (need proof of onward travel prior to 30days)

1. Get tourist visa

2. Buy cheapie ticket out of Thailand, Air Asia ect

3. Buy R/T ticket for less than 30days

No problem if you have a Visa.

1. Get visa. A tourist visa will do. You will have no problem.

2. If you arrive by air, without a visa, you can get a stamp in your passport (if you belong to one of the countries for which arrival without visa is allowed). Usually Thai immigration will not bother you, but it is possible they will want a ticket out of the country. The other problem is that certain airlines enforce the IATA regulation that requires you to have either a visa or a ticket out of country on arrival in Thailand. If you arrive in Thailand without a visa and no out-of-country ticket the Thai immigration can theoretically not allow you to rnter. In that case the airline is responsible for returning you to your home. For that reason, the airline may not let you board the flight to Thailand unless you can show a visa or a ticket out of Thailand. This is up to the airline, however.

3. If you come into Thailand across a land border, Thai immigration may want to see a ticket out of the country. If you have a 30 day visa, and enter by land, they may want to see a valid ticket out of country at the end of your visa. Sometimes, if you do not have the ticket, they require proof that you have the funds to purchase a ticket out of the country. It is getting more common now, to be asked to show a confirmed ticket out of country, esspecially if you enter across a land border.

4. If you require a ticket, it does not have to be a return ticket (to your home country). It merely needs to be a ticket out of Thailand. In the past an open return ticket (with no booking date) was good enough. Not sure if this is still the case however.

Hope that is clear.
