:o Hi all

Could anybody please clarify some very confusing issues on visas?

My partner and I are both in our late thirties with two young children and wish to live in Thailand indefinitely. We are putting both children in recognised international schools and I have a Thai registered company. I have funds available to invest (goverment bonds, condo etc) but my concern is the 90 day border run involving two young children.

Is there anything such as an education visa for them to minimise the disruption to schooling etc or alternatively an investment visa I maybe able to apply for to cover the entire family?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I note you use the word partner. To qualify as a family you will need to be legally married.

If you are willing to make the investment here (3M possibly 10M baht)

then you will be able to get a 1 year visa, and to be able to extend it for a further

year at a time.

You family will be granted the same rights.

Then you will not need to do border runs with all the disruption to family life and schooling.

I suggest you talk to Sun Belt or Indo Siam for advice about using your Thai company to get a work permit. This can also be used to get a 1 year visa for you, and then the family.
