Didn't know Nok Air did international flights - thought those were left to TG?

The did Hanoi and Bangalore, but appear to have stopped.

they indeed stopped..... very naive management..... low occupancy.....

and there is a good chance they will ENTIRELY stop operations in the very near future.... at least the will cancel several domestic destinations

I travelled on Nok Air to Bangalore

The Fares were so RELATIVELY cheap

- I even flew back in their "Superior" Class

The Flights were FULL - many Indian Businessmen

utilising Visa on Arrival.

The Joint Flights Thai/Air India - Bangkok / Bangalore are also always FULL.

When Nok Air stopped flying to Bangalore at the end of Last Year

I phoned them to find out why - Nobody could give a reason.

I just realised last month they stopped flying to Hanoi.

It is great Pity - I considered their services to be above average.

I also would like to know the REAL reason for them stopping

their International Flights.

Just because flights on certain routes are full, doesn't mean they are profitable. For a mainly domestic operator like NokAir, the additional overhead for increasing fuel costs on just two routes would probably turn them into loss leaders. If the company is struggling as much as it is reported to be on its whole business, the international routes would be the first to go. In these very uncertain and even more competitive times I wouldn't bank on Thai Airways baling them out. They could probably do with the business themselves!

The thing which annoys me slightly is that Nok doesn't even bother to mention the fact that they did stop their international flights, for instance in the "Nok News and Press" section on their website. I guess that would make them loose face seriously... :o

They're a good airline and as long as this oil price bubble doesn't drag on too long, I reckon they should be ok.
