Thai Tv Programme.

There is a Thai TV show at weekends, I don't know what it is called but it is nothing but filming toddlers antics.

Anyway, all of the kids in this are overweight or just plain obese. Why is this?

I have 2 ideas:

1) It is considered healthy in toddlers, or

2) It is a status symbol, I.E.: It shows that the family can afford to provide for their children well.

Anybody??

It’s just the media. With all the shows being sponsored by Milo and ovilteen, juice drinks. What ever, that hold all these artificial fats impurities colors, and the media is pumping out that this crap is good for you. Same old story!!!

So 1&2 are right, But full of shit at the same time!!!

I think you are talking about a program that I caught three weeks ago on Channel 7. I thought about starting a topic about it then, but didn't. The only reason I was watching was because Aum (Patcharapa Chaichua) was co-hosting. :o

But what really astonished me was the way they were tormenting these fat kids and putting them in situations where they would suffer - i.e. mentally, by humiliation or frustration - and all the time they were being videoed so people can have a dam_n good laugh at them - AT them - on TV.

I even took the trouble to take some screen shots. Here's a fat girl bawling her eyes out being force-fed some snacks by her brother:

Here's a fat kid bawling his eyes out, unable to get out of the deck-chair that he was put in. Even the two kids with him weren't strong enough to pull him out:

And here are our wonderful hosts:

"That's all for this week kids. Next week, more fatties bawling their little eyes out so we can all have a dam_n good laugh and yours truly (and Channel 7) can make some more dosh."

A better deterrent to child obesity I cannot imagine. :o

A couple of fat kids fighting like pigs over a Big Mac would also be good for the betting action.
