Where To Buy A Cheap Air Fare To Bkk

Featured Replies

My daughter wants to go on holiday to Thailand in April 2009. I don't have time to search for all travel agents. Which travel agents do you use to get a cheap ticket (return) fly from Heathrow Airport, Direct flight, TG or Eva. Thank you.

Depends what you mean by cheap...

just done a quick look on Netflights and Eva is £633 with BA /Q partners at £899 both direct and since April is Low Season....

TG Thai didnt come up since maybe they will have gone bust by then especially the way they are behaving.....

Middle East Budgies tend to be a bit cheaper but involve a stop ...somwhere....

kayak.co.uk.

kayak.co.uk.

I've just bought in the EVA online sale at about £530 (LHR-BKK Mar 27- April 24) but this ended last week. You might try Oman air, which doesn't seem to be included in Kayak and has some cheap flights. However Oman may have stopped doing online bookings on the LGW/BKK route for a few weeks and were quoting higher prices over the 'phone. Kayak is okay but didn't have the cheap EVA flights.

In case of difficulties, try flying via HKG and then China Air HKG - BKK or via Macau flying www.airasia.com to BKK for maybe an additional 150 quid including the ferry etc. A stopover might be nice, too.

Personally, I can recommend the service of Korean Air very much and they fly via Seoul. But I am prejudiced since I have access to their lounges.

The days of low fares seem to be over.

Good luck!

Book EVA Air directly on their website www.evaair.com and pay with your Mastercard. You will get additional 5% as they currently have a promotion. Another good one these days seems to be AY (Finnair).

The least expensive fares between LHR and BKK currently appear to be one-stops via the middle east. For April, 2009 the lowest price I could find (published fare; available seat) was on Gulf Air (GF), 526.20 GBP all in:

London, United Kingdom to Bangkok, Thailand: 6508 miles 16 hrs 0 min

for cheap fares don't look a year in advance - if it's a low season (and april is) start searching in january, when everybody runs sales.

recently somebody mentioned thai airways for some 630 gbp, I would expect that fares will drop further as demand falls and petrol goes down

Thai is going in later part of April for £500 on ebookers......

also CP =£480 (via Kong)

and

Etti.. = £380 (Via the dabbi)

also dont forget that Easter and Song K are about the same time and all of the little rich Thai kids go home from their English public Schools for their mid term jollis.....

(Millfield must be empty ... :o )

so....

One place to call is always WestEast Travel, surely. They always have good fares for TG, but are also aware of the other direct/via-the-Gulf fares, usually cheaper. :o

Try Etihad. etihadairways.com

I've flown with them a few times and can highly recommend them. Stopover usually for a couple of hours in Abu Dhabi. Last time I booked direct from their website and it was cheaper than I could find at a UK travel agency.
